Born to read
The Born to read project is a joint initiative by libraries and health centres to promote reading amongst children from 0 to 3 years. The aim is to involve the childcare community (paediatricians, midwives, pedagogues, librarians, etc.) in encouraging the taste for reading and forming affective bonds between adults and children through books.
Designed by COBDC, the Children's Libraries Group of the Official College of Librarians and Documentalists of Catalonia; the Catalan Council for Children's Books; the Paediatric Primary Care Section of the Catalan Paediatric Association; the Catalan Association of Paediatric Nurses; and the Catalan Midwives Association in cooperation with Barcelona Provincial Council, which provides and regularly updates the initial Parents' corner collection for libraries in the Network of Municipal Libraries.
